Henry S. Jacobs camp is our region's Reform Jewish overnight camp located in Utica, MS serving the Deep South: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Western Tennessee. Since 1970, Jacobs Camp has been providing a caring Jewish community that builds young people. The opportunity to live as part of a close-knit community and develop new skills, assisted by dynamic and enthusiastic staff, coupled with Jewish values and the development of one's Jewish identity result in the experience of a lifetime.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge provides funding for programming and a part-time coordinator to encourage and support Jewish Life on the LSU campus.

Hillel consists of our re-envisioned executive board, advisor Dan Novak, interim Hillel staff Moshe Cohen, around 30 active members, and over 170 on our listserv! Activities include an on campus sukkah, in home shabbat dinners, Taglit-Birthright Israel and volunteer opportunities for the greater jewish community and more.

In the wake of the hurricanes in Fall 2005, Hillel at LSU became nationally recognized by Hillel International and received attention from the Jewish Federations at the national and local levels.

Holocaust Educators Scholarship Available

The Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge and The Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival would like to formally invite all secondary English and social studies teachers to apply for a fully funded scholarship to attend the Arthur and Rochelle Belfer National Conference for Educators hosted by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
