Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival VIRTUAL School Screening

To say that 2020 has been unprecedented would be an understatement.  Everything we know has changed; how our kids learn, how we work, how we interact with family and friends and how we conduct otherwise everyday activities.

We understand the uncertainty you are now facing regarding your students and their curriculum.  And after speaking with some teachers, we have been told that Holocaust education is still a priority.  So once again, we are offering a Holocaust film and survivor to your and your students, albeit a bit different than before.

Below is a listing of some of the films we have shown over the years.  We ask that you select a film of your choice (either from this sheet or some other resource) and show/share it with your students prior to Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

Nicky’s Family
50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus
Inside Hana's Suitcase
No Place on Earth
 Paper Clips

We will offer two Zoom sessions that will consists of an hour-long program in which a survivor will be interviewed by a Holocaust Museum staff member for approximately 30 minutes after which students will get the opportunity to engage with the survivor and ask questions.

Programs will be offered Tuesday, January 12th and Thursday, January 14th at 10am (CST).  Each program will be LIMITED TO 300 PARTICIPANTS, so you will need to sign up in advance.

To sign up, please send the following information NO LATER THAN JANUARY 1, 2021:

·        Teacher Name

·        School Name

·        Grade Level

·        Number of students participating

Space will be assigned on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this “new normal”.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at ellen.sager@jewishbr.org or at 225.379.7393 with any questions or concerns that you may have.
